ImageShack media aims to play host to the ecosystem Twitter

Twitter traffic could more than double this month in more than 30 million unique visitors on its Web site in the U.S. alone (not counting Twitter traffic over other applications, or the movement outside the United States). Expect to see the number of third-party developers, creating applications for Twitter increase accordingly - and that is what the media accommodation start setting ImageShack.

Today, the company publishes Tweetero, an open-source Twitter client for iPhone and iPod Touch which is designed to display media soft on 3G networks. The idea here is that ImageShack is to help other developers to create experiences in high-quality media for their own customers using Twitter Tweetero code - by encouraging them to pay imageshack to host pictures (and soon also videos). For example, the Tweetero interface allows the user to download an image to Twitter from the iPhone, and complete the message before the picture has completely downloaded. The images are hosted on ImageShack yfrog media hosting service - which itself was to see the use of recent times. Launched in February, already yfrog allows users to upload photos and share them via URLs shortened yfrog they send to Twitter, as http://yfrog.com/0prdvcj (see screenshot below).

Larger, Yfrog was his first foray into Twitter and mobile. Co-founder of four and a half years ago by early Googler Jack Levin, ImageShack has 33 million unique visitors to its web hosting media. And this site is to pay for itself, "said Levin, through a mix of ads and premium services. While its traditional rival site has had other photo-hosting sites such as News Corp. 's Photobucket, ImageShack turning to Twitter, it sets up against the applications like Twitter Twitpic photo. Twitpic Levin note destination site is to try to lead people to make money for things such as ads, rather than trying to be a hosting service for third parties (speaking of competition, he also adds that a Photobucket Twitter's own mobile and housing efforts in the works). In other words, ImageShack well-developed distribution network of media content is what is giving a boost yet.

The service began Yfrog increasingly important absorption, Levin tells me, since its launch, as other third-party applications are more direct users of it. These include popular iPhone Twitter apps and Tweetie and Twittelator Twitter TwitterBerry Blackberry app. When a user downloads an image yfrog, either on its site or a third, their followers see their Tweet with yfrog shortcut URL, which directs them to a page displaying the image on the site ImageShack. More recently, Tweetie brand new Twitter application reading Mac desktop use (see screenshot above). Click on a link in yfrog the application and you will see a window with the image pop up on your desktop without yfrog visiting the web page. For developers, the application programming interface yfrog uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to make third party access, a free advertising iPhone media player, and image processing optimized for the iPhone.

ImageShack, contrary to its name, is not only the hosting of images - and this is part of the plan Tweetero. ImageShack will allow people to host and share videos on the site very soon, "says Levin, including the high quality H.264 video standard. Developers can use ImageShack for both video streaming on mobile phones and telephones potentially (although Apple has yet to let a third of videos of applications for legal aid from the iPhone camera, for example, could begin to let that happen more quickly). If catches Tweetero now, ImageShack hopes the tool will help you get the organization of enterprises in a wide range of connected applications on Twitter that somehow use of the media. Of course, we'll see what Photobucket and other media, hosting companies offer - and more than web-hosting services like Amazon and Google up to take advantage of the Twitter ecosystem.

Apart from its own revenues, based in Los Gatos ImageShack also raised $ 11.5 million from Sequoia Capital, Levin said - slightly less than what we heard last fall - on top of previous funding Index Ventures, and Felicis Ventures. (source)
