Website Creation - Tips For Beginners

Website creation is something that beginners like you can view as a good prospect. If you create the website yourself, you can mold it to your liking and add as many or as little elements as you like. However, website creation is not an easy task, and you, as beginners, have to look at the things that you need before you actually begin maximizing your web space. The best tip to starting /website creation/ is to get a good domain name.

How do you get a domain name? Website creation begins with getting a domain registered under your name, like buying a lot before building a house. Do not rush into this step if you are not sure about what you are doing. Make sure you have a marketing plan to back you up and guide you through the process. Once you are sure that you are ready, then it is time to get your website online. That means that you should register or reserve your domain name. Your domain name is nothing but your website's name. It is what makes up your website address and it can end in .com, .org, .net, .info or the suffixes of your country like .de, .us or it can also be the suffix of your business like .tv or .biz. There are a lot of domain names to choose from, and you can maximize the catchiness of your website by choosing the right one.

Once you have registered the name of your domain, the next step is to select your web host. The web host is basically the basis or the foundation of your website. Sometimes you can see a website that says at the bottom of the home page: "Powered by (web host name)". This means that that website is being sponsored or "hosted" by that particular service. This is where you can create your pages and publish them into the internet. It is where you can add different website functions like email and IM and even order forms. This is where you log in to maintain and protect your site from malware.

But before going that far, you need to focus on finding a good domain name for your business. If being on top of search engine listings is important for your business, say you are going worldwide, then instead of putting the name of your business in the domain name, you will get more results by putting keywords on the domain name. For example, you have a company called Slim Body Pro, and you sell slimming belts and other slimming clothing. So instead of using slimbodypro.com, you can get more visitors and higher search engine ranking by using slimming-belts-and-clothing.com.

Lastly, do not make the domain name too long. The maximum length of a domain name is around 63 to 65 characters, but you do not have to make it that long. Other than it will be hard to remember, it will be a hassle to type in. If the domain name you chose will be longer than two words, use hyphens to separate them, which will make it easier to understand and remember.(source)

Website Design - Identify Your Target Audience

Creative designs can attract a web visitor, but it cannot cast any major influence on the buying decision of the web visitor because the website has failed to address the target audience. So before a website designer decides to start working on a particular website design they need to analyse about the potential target audience are and to whom they are trying to communicate through this website?

It is obvious that you are creating a website to register your web presence and you intend to attract web visitors to know about your services. So it becomes your responsibility to make the visitor understand what your website design is trying to convey to them and what is it all about?

After finding the group of people who are likely to visit your website the next important phase for the web designer is to define the remaining part of your website development. Like who will read your contents? which graphics and sounds will be appreciated? what keywords will bring you more visitors and all? Once you identify your target audience it is really important to understand that you cannot communicate with everyone around, which means if you are targeting a woman then it will not be useful for the men to read through your webpage’s.

So web designer should wait to analyse the pros and cons of particular web design initiative. It does not matter what kind of website a website designer envisions but they can determine their audience. So it’s important to design a website which communicates with the beginners.

Website design gains momentum if it is interactive. Interactivity is possible only when you reach out to your target audience in reality to understand their views and their needs. So interviews or surveys some of your target audience will help you to pick the insights. This lessens the issues or errors in the final project. Remember the end user to finally approves your web design is the person with whom you are trying to communicate, not the person who is paying you.

1. Marketing segmentation which helps you to arrive in desired website design is:

2. Age group: Define clearly to whom you are intending to present your products or services.

3. Education: Whether you are aiming at school children or college going student or professional, their educational background will help you to come into the conclusion about the lucidity of the language to be used during website design.

4. Technical knowledge: If you are dealing with some technological services then analyse which type of technical knowledge your end users possess as this will help you to analyse about their strengths and abilities.

5. Graphical orientation: Judging the taste of the customers will help you to arrive into the correct graphical orientation to drive sales to your website.

So when the web developer clearly outlines all these aspects of website design by studying the target audience all other things become easier. Like the screen resolution, graphics format, fast load times, language etc.

So by understanding the needs of the target audience it becomes relatively easy for the website designer to solve many questions that come up during web design.(source)

PC Security: It’s Bigger Than Viruses And Spyware

Nowadays the words ‘computer security’ are on every person’s mind who deals with computers. Everyone seems to be worried about some security concern with their computers. But what exactly does computer security mean?

Simplified, it means keeping your computer and of course, its data secure and safe. In the present age, most of personal data are stored in the computer. But some of us don’t have the fundamental knowledge of keeping those data in safety. This basic knowledge is very simple; all you have to do is following some uncomplicated rules that will improve the security of your computer hugely.

First of all let’s see what the internet connection is all about. We can take up a comparison- a computer with internet connection resembles your very own house. Your house has many openings- doors, windows. With the increase in number of openings, increases the number of chances for someone to enter into your house. I am not saying that some robbers are going to come, but more openings imply more chances of getting robbed.

So to check these visits from strangers you need to install a quality firewall and also update this installed firewall on a regular basis.

Nowadays, it’s not a headache to update your software or operating system. Microsoft Windows Update feature is a good instance. Ensure updating all your installations of your computer.

You will come across two basic kinds of firewalls. Both of these (one, hardware and another, software) carry out the same task. Generally, a hardware firewall is included in your router in case you use one but you may not have a software firewall on your computer.

Sometimes we quite foolishly let strangers come in. just opening an email or browsing the net can invite strangers. Your guards are often fooled by viruses, Trojans or spyware. Sometimes an email from your buddy can carry a fatal virus. So how does your computer fight these unwanted ‘guests’? - By installing anti virus software.

In the present days, anti-virus falls under a huge category. Usually these packages or suites include a spyware scanner and a firewall. Although these guards are quite effective in their jobs, you are advised not to relax and rely completely on them. The protection plan of your computer’s requires multi-tiered protection plan but they are just a single layer. The ultimate yet one of the most crucial advices that I must give you is that your computer’s anti virus software should always be in a state of updated. They should be updated manually regularly since your computer can be subjected to new threats everyday.(source)

Upgrade Your Computer Power Supply

The power supply to a computer is often the most underappreciated component of a computer and can well be a key to better, faster and smoother computer speeds of your computer.

But who ever thinks of that silver box tucked away in the back of your computer?

Most people simply have the power supply that came installed in their computer. If it ever overheats and breaks down, stopping their computer from starting dead cold, that is the only time most computer users ever think of, replace or upgrade their computer.

Imagine if you had an erratic source of electricity to your home that was sparkly, erratic or underpowered. In the same way if the power supply is an inexpensive one it may be erratic in its power output. You may well have upgraded your computer – added drives , added a second cd/dvd reader or burner, a new powerful video card , or a number of external USB devices – whether they be mice, keyboards , external drives powered by the USB port alone , and never thought that you were taxing your limited amperage power supply. All of this extra power usage by these new components that you have added to your computer without thinking of the consequences on your already stretched power supply can both dampen your computer performance and shorten the life of your power supply.

How is computer power supplies rated? Computer power supplies are usually rated by amperage. However this is a peak amperage measurement. This can be of a most optimistic rating. Late in the day – a couple of technicians overseas snap one or two of the better examples of their factories workmanship onto a load meter. They snap on the power briefly and note – did you see that – 500 watts. I’m sure I saw 500 watts says technician number 2 and even 3 and they mark the test results down. And if the numbers do not jive absolutely it can always be blamed on batch consistency or even a different group of products. For after all isn’t it a test of average load of a number of transformers.

Everything in life as they say comes down to practical logistics.

Most of the mass market computer that you will find in big box stores etc is mass produced. This has advantages of low cost and easy repair at the factory. The product has been set up and tested. If there is a problem with the computer it can be easily fixed, in, most cases with a simple swap of components at the factory. The computer model and its common problems and fixes are well known. The flip side is that the components have been carefully sought out, extensively tested and component quality shaved down to the bone.

As a result you do not have a lot of leeway with power supply to any upgrades or simple USB hardware additions to your computer system. Thus it is a wise idea to replace your power supply.

How can you judge which power supplies are better than others. First of all you can do a rough judgment by weight. The better power supplies will have a lot more copper metal in their transformer and will be much heavier. Inexpensive power supplies are very lightweight. You will notice the heavier weight of better power supplies immediately.

Next the better power supplies will have higher wattage. 200 – 300 watts may be fine for older Pentium 2s and 3s; newer computers may well need a minimum of 350 – 400 watts or more. It is not only power in watts but the consistency that matters. The better power supplies will be marked with consistent power output levels on their markings. As well they may be marked as having dual or more channels, What this means is that there are two or more entirely separate power supply channels, Thus there will be one distinct channel of power for the motherboard and another for the peripherals. When a DVD drive comes on it the power supply to the motherboard will not diminish even for a second.

Your computer speed will be smooooooooth.

The last thing to note is either the amount of plug outputs and the amount fans built into the power supply. The better power supplies will have the luxury of providing lots of extra plugs – both for convenience, and the expandability their power supply offers.

As well there may be extra fans to properly cool the better, more powerful power supplies. Even though there may be extra fans, the power supply over may be incredibly quiet due to the higher quality ball bearing based gearings and advanced sophisticated heat sensing power switching controls.

The ac power supply of your computer may well be the most unappreciated taken for granted component of your computer. A better power supply can be one of the keys to increasing the speed and consistent performance of your computer especially as you upgrade your computer adds new components. Might be a good idea to invest in a new. High quality computer power supply.(source)

What You Need To Know When Purchasing A Laptop

When people talk about laptops, everyone assumes that all laptops are wireless. Traveling with a laptop is easier today than it once was, the laptops have gotten smaller and lighter. The new mobile laptops make computing easy for many people. When purchasing a laptop, make sure a wireless connection is built in so you can reach the internet if you are in a wireless area.

The laptop is replacing the big desktop computer; but the mobile computer needs to provide the ability to accept components for expandability. Many people today keep all of the information on their computer, so if the computer goes down many people will not have that data. In today's modern world the laptop or sometimes called notebook is a must have.

If you do not have a laptop computer yet, you should know that one of the most important aspects of having a laptop computer is having a great power supply. Every laptop computer needs to be equipped with some type of warranty; the laptop should have at least a one year manufacturer warranty. You may even be able to play movies on them with crystal clarity. Purchasing a laptop computer is not an easy job to do because there are so many important things that should be considered before purchasing.

The type of work you do can affect the screen size and type that is most suitable for you. If you are not worried about graphics a screen size of 12-14" is acceptable. If the work you are doing is graphically intensive than a 15-17" is better. Screen sizes range from 12 to 19 inches. A laptop computer with smaller screen is great option if you do not plan to use laptop too much.

Going from 256MB of RAM to 512MB of RAM will speed up your laptop. If your needs are somewhat mundane - email, spreadsheets, word processing, etc. 512 MB of RAM should be plenty. RAM is to a computer what location is to real estate.

You also need to think about the hard drive in the laptop you are considering. The hard drive is also a very important specification to consider in buying a laptop. The speed of a hard drive is normally calculated in rotations per minute. A hard drive of about 50 gb or over is a good rule of thumb.

In addition to the processor, you will probably want to upgrade your system with memory, monitor, a graphics card or video card, and pointing device and keyboard. Finding cheap components is easy today due to the internet, many sites have popped up and made all of these components accessible. The important thing to remember when shopping for components is that you need to make sure they are compatible with your system.

Laptop cases are an important computer accessory you should make sure you acquire. They have many sections that accommodate important office documents. Another important type of carrying case is the wheeled roller case. But, their safety and protection is equally important. A laptop case is specially made for carrying a laptop but a backpack is just a bottomless pit. Getting a quality bag is very important since you are carrying around an expensive piece of equipment. Your notebook is going to be at least 6 pounds, probably more. The portability of laptop computers is both a boon to busy business people. Your notebook should be sturdy and rugged. Expensive notebooks should be protected properly.(source)

Trojan Horse – Greek Myth Or Your Personal Computer Nemesis - It Is Your Choice

In Greek Mythology, Odysseus tricked the Trojans into letting the Greek army into the impregnable gates of Troy by having his men convert one of their ships into a huge wooden horse, presenting it as a gift with all his troops inside. Shown to beautiful effect by the Brad Pitt film Troy, the tactic is unfortunately used in the computing world in exactly the same way.

Trojan Horses are programs that masquerade as something harmless. They don't replicate themselves, they don't destroy your data, and they don't seem to do anything. Don’t be fooled. Trojan Horses do their dirty work, like the Greeks of myth, by being the "inside man" – they'll disable your firewall protection, opening ports for botnet masters to turn your computer into a zombie, they'll promise to remove viruses while downloading installation packages for them, or they'll invite keystroke loggers to steal your personal information and send it out on the Internet for people who'll use the information to do untold harm to you.

Most Trojan Horses, like phishing attacks, rely on the human side of security to work. You'll see a pop up ad advertising something (like a high school class reunion search engine, or something to cleanse your computer of viruses and spyware) and click on it. Or you'll get a link to a video clip from a friend or an email attachment, claiming to be a patch to protect your computer from a virus.

As always, the best way to stop this is to never click on attachments from people you don't know and don't trust implicitly. Never ever download something you weren't specifically looking for in a legitimate directory of applications (like http://tucows.com). Always assume that any email from someone you don't know is a spammer trying to do you harm, unless you have legitimate reasons to believe otherwise.

Activating Trojans is never a good thing – they run roughshod (pun intended) over all of your data. They can erase things, install other programs, give your computer a host of ailments, and steal your personal data, sending out to scammers and thieves.

Most operating systems have regular security updates. Make sure you update your installation regularly – Windows Automatic Update is a good thing to just leave turned on for your machine. You'll also be better protected by making sure your computer is run with a user account, rather than an account with administration privileges. Most Trojans need those administrative privileges to install themselves, and simply having a separate administrative account you use for installing software, and a user account where you use it, is a good mechanism to stop Trojans (this is the default on Macintosh and Linux systems, and one of the main reasons why there aren't as many malware threats for those platforms.)

Always be vigilant and, if you have one, use a firewall to guard your computer – even a software one like ZoneAlarm will do the job. A firewall closes off ports (ways your computer talks to other computers) which are the common targets and communication paths for Trojans to do their dirty work.(source)

Computer Repair Technician Jobs – Or Hire Yourself!

The good news about computer repair technician jobs is that technology is always changing and will require highly skilled people to provide support and service. The bad news is that the IT department is a high cost administrative area that is a slow moving target for budget cuts.

Most IT departments expand or contact based on the projects and technology desired or even required by any given company. There are very good times and very bad times for most computer repair technicians. I know, I’ve been in the Computer Repair business both as a contractor, self-employed or even as a fulltime employee for over 30 years.

The best way to deal with these up and downs in available work is to have a solid fall back plan that allows you to prosper in either situation. Computer Repair is a huge market in both commercial and individual areas.

Computers break, software confuses and disorients many people. That’s a fact. Although the user interfaces are becoming more friendly, the technology necessary to make them work is getting more and more complex. Throw in the Wild West style of the Internet and you have a perfect scenario for someone with the proper skills to make money full or part time.

But where most “techies” get into trouble is in both the day-to-day business requirements and selling and marketing their services. People skills are also important when running your own company. If you watch any movie about computers and software, and the folks who really understand them, they paint a pretty sad picture of the individuals involved.

It’s not quite that bad, but there are many facets that are true. Large IT departments often have an attitude that they are smart and everyone else is dumb. This type of environment is not a good training ground for the self-employed. In fact, it’s not a good thing for anyone, the department or the clients they serve.

Never the less, that less than good attitude is there and predominate. I was fortunate early on in my career to have a mentor who truly understood the fact that the only reason the IT department exists is to serve the rest of the company. Many IT folks never get that salient fact.

The successful computer repair business owner must know how to sell and market their services to both individuals and small business owners. They should also have some good people skills, because every computer has an operator. And many of the common computer repairs have to do with the individual between the chair and the keyboard.

Doing freelance computer repair work can be very profitable on both a part or full time basis. You’re selling knowledge and time for the most part. Sometimes hardware is involved but over half the service calls have to do with software, configuration, and problem solving.

So no matter what the computer repair technician jobs situation is, you can supplement or even replace your income by selling your self. The tax benefits alone can be a huge advantage. Being somewhat of a geek myself, I love being able to buy the high tech toys and getting to take a deduction since most items directly apply to my job.

So with the addition of a few new skills (business marketing and people), any computer repair technician can make some good money part or fulltime. So what kind of money is possible doing computer repair work?

Well, lets say you want to start out slow and just make some extra money for a great vacation, new toy, or college tuition for the kids. If you just do about 10-12 hours of part time work a month, only charge minimal amount ($50 an hour instead of the going $75), you can make an extra $7200 a year.

Maybe you save another $2-$4K in taxes, which gives you another $1,000 cash. So that’s quite a little jolt to the household budget for whatever. And if you should get a pink slip, for whatever reason, you could even crank up the part-time business to help fill the gap.

Of course the trick is acquiring those new skills. That’s where I might be able to help you out. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been in the computer repair business for a long time. During those fun filled years I’ve developed both marketing and business practices directly related to the computer repair business.

I’ve compiled all the information into one big package that teaches and provides many marketing and business operating tools. Everything from a basic website, to software, and even marketing materials. This is not some general business guide. Every piece of information, every software tool, and marketing piece applies to a computer repair business.

And all of the material has proven to be successful in own computer repair business. There is no theory here, just proven successful methods I use everyday. If you want ot find out more, click on the link below.

So if you are looking for computer repair technician jobs, you might want to consider hiring yourself. I don’t know of any other business that you can start for less money or has a larger target audience.(source)

Protecting Your Computer From Viruses, Spyware, And Other Security Threats

Most of us rely on our personal computers and those in our office to complete multiple tasks each day. If that data is lost or compromised it can create numerous problems for us. Protecting computers against viruses and spyware is something you should do before you start using any program on it. The information you prevent from being accessed could be your credit card accounts and bank accounts. If they are compromised you can end up becoming a victim of identity theft.

One way that people accidentally end up with viruses or spyware on their computer is by not paying attention to the sites they use. Don’t get into the habit of giving out your personal information online just because a site asks for it. To opt in, you should only have to give them a first name and an email address.

Always check the address in the URL to make sure you are accessing a secure site. It should start with “https” as this will let you know it is very secure. If it only starts with “http” then the site is not secure and you can end up compromising the security of your computer if you continue entering information on the site.

Viruses can spread very rapidly so if you think your computer may be infected, you should take care not to pass it to any other area of your computer or to others via email. By disconnecting your computer from the network you have a good chance of isolating the damages.

Always be on the alert for various types of emails known as phishing. This is a scam to get you to provide personal information. Once you do, spyware can be attached to your computer. Never respond to emails asking you for personal information as most credible companies won’t contact you for such information.

Make sure you purchase a virus and spyware protection program that is very easy to install. Most of them offer step by step instructions for you to follow. You can find out how easy such software programs are to install before you buy them just by reading some independent reviews online.

You need to choose the program for your computer protection very carefully. While they are designed to give you the very best security, you can be sure those trying to pass viruses or get spyware into your system are very smart. They have learned elaborate tricks to be able to gain access to your information.

One of the latest tactics that these criminals have been using is to sell software that is supposed to protect your computer from viruses and spyware. Unfortunately, what they are selling you is actually the very thing you are trying to protect yourself against. Always get such software from a company that has an excellent reputation, not just any one that you come across online for a good price.

In order to ensure your computer is well protected against viruses and spyware, you want a program that offers you instant updates. These will usually happen for one full year after you install the program. This ensures that your protective software is always the most current available and criminals will have a hard time infecting your computer system with viruses or spyware.(source)

Blogging as the Mayor of Business Blog Village

Community. That’s what you’re building with a business blog. You are establishing yourself as the Mayor of your online village and you are hoping the citizens show up soon. If they don’t drop by eventually you need to ask yourself why.

Many blogs are simply struggling to survive instead of thrive. They are filled with information, but very little of it is worth getting too excited about. The delivery is ho hum and there are very few new informational posts. They simply regurgitate what others have already said. The citizens of your blog community post a collective yawn and forget to hit send.

In order for there to be the excitement needed for your blog you’ve got to provide your readers with new information, new facts, expert analysis and you’ve absolutely got to be passionate about what you’re talking about. Yes, allow dissenting opinion, but defend your leadership position by providing members who disagree with further proofs when needed. Another question you need to ask yourself is if you care enough about the product or subject matter to express the vulnerability of passion.

The truth is you can be an articulate spokesperson for your blog subject, you could be a random informationalist with no real vested interest in how the work is received, or you could even be perceived as a cyber bully who can’t stand to be contradicted. If I were you I’d aim for the first – an articulate spokesperson.

When you can accurately defend your position in a diplomatic and articulate fashion you present yourself as a leader who has the expertise to pass along valuable data to the readers. Many readers may want to know if you are the individual they would like to follow when it comes to information gathering and vision casting for what they are doing.

You will need links and interviews to compliment your own expertise. You might need to occasionally think outside the box on common issues. You will need to invest time and patience in developing practical and thought provoking material for your readers. You will need to make visiting your blog as much of an event as possible.

How are you doing so far?

If you get a press release you would like to share with your readers you might consider sending a blog post with the information along with links as well as a personal analysis regarding what the information means to your readers. Many bloggers err in this concept because all they do is simply pass along the press release with no meaningful leadership. Your readers can find that exact press release in virtually any blog on a topic similar to yours. It may be good information, but it’s not unique until you make it so.

You should also add applicable pictures or graphics to each blog post. Add bullet points of subheadings for the scanners in your online village. Blog readers are no different than most of the rest of the online world – they are scanners first and foremost. By drawing them visually to the most important concepts you can help them come to terms with what information they might want to read most. This can keep those scanners coming back more often.

Assign some passion and expertise to your blog it may go a long way in allowing your constituents to view you as their leader. (source)

Tips For Getting the Best Website Design For Your Money

Eventually every small-business owner realizes that they will need a website for their business, but figuring out where to start can be a challenge. Just understanding the technical lingo and all the options can be confusing, but with the right preparation you can have an impressive and easy to maintain website for your small business in no time.

Check the competition

The first place to start on your website project is to look at some competitor websites in your industry. You will want to know what your potential customers will comparing you to. You will also want to find out what the standard is for your industry in terms of the number of pages, the type of information and the general look and feel. If for example, your competitors have large sites and many interactive features then you will want your site be comparable, but if your competitors have small simple sites, then you know that you won't need lots of bells and whistles.

Prepare your information

Before you meet with your web designer, gather some examples of competitor websites that you like. List what it is that you like and dislike about those sites. If you have any pamphlets or brochures for your business, have those ready for your designer as well. Choose some colors or have an idea of some color schemes that you like and if you have won any professional awards or have any important professional affiliations, put that information together because you will probably want to feature that on your website.

Do you need a content management system?

One important decision that you need to make about your website is whether or not you are going to need a content management system. Content management systems are typically used on larger sites, to control text, video, pictures etc. A content management system allows you to easily change and update the information on your site. This is useful for a website on which, for example staff photos and bios are added often or a newsletter archive is maintained.

If you anticipate making many changes on your website, a content management system can save you time and money. With a content management system, the owner of the site can make the changes as needed, without having to wait for a web designer or webmaster to make the changes for them. This can be a very important feature because it allows you to keep your website current at all times so you're making the best possible presentation to your customer. It can save you money because you will not have to pay your web designer to make the updates for you.

Typically, a website that is more than 15 pages would be a good candidate for a content management system. The more information you have on your website the greater the chances are that you are going to need to keep that information updated. If your website is less than 15 pages, you probably will not need a content management system.

WordPress as a content management system for small business

WordPress is popular as a content management system for small businesses for several reasons. One it is that it is relatively easy to use. You do not need to be versed in HTML or any other programming language to handle WordPress. There are also many training videos and materials available on the Internet and also a number of plug-ins so that you can customize the software for your needs. WordPress is also useful for blogging which can help to keep your website information up to date. If you would like to show up higher in the search results, then WordPress is a good choice for that as well. Google has stated that WordPress is one of the easiest systems to crawl so it can help you come up higher in the search engine results.

When you begin planning for your small business web site, start by checking competitor websites in your industry. This will give you an idea of approximately how many pages you will need as well as what type of features you will want on your site. Your goal will be to have your website look as good as, or better than your competitor’s.

By planning ahead and knowing what your potential customers will be comparing you with, deciding how large you want your site to be, and what type of features you will need, you will be equipped to get the best possible website for your small business.(source)

Mapping Ancient Egyptian Sites With GPS and Imagery

Hundreds of viper trails covered the sand before them. The Egyptologists could only hope that the serpents themselves were long gone as they made their way off the ancient desert road towards the limestone cliffs.

First to reach the wall, Dr John Coleman Darnell of Yale University, was surprised to find the surface covered with rough hieroglyphic inscriptions in apparently random patterns. What did they mean?

His past experience in the field led Darnell to think the markings were graffiti. The wall was close enough to an ancient campsite to serve as the common latrine for drivers, merchants and guards. The inscriptions, over 500 counted so far, were the ancient equivalent of writing on the bathroom wall. Darnell was the first person to see that graffiti in possibly 5000 years.

Using standard archaeological methods to measure, record and interpret the inscriptions on this wall could be the work of an entire career, by itself. But Professor Darnell’s plan wasn’t to use conventional techniques in this survey. His team was packing a technological edge that would make quick work of this fascinating new find.

When most people think of Egypt, the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, Queen Cleopatra, King Ramses II and, of course, the boy king Tutankhamen, spring to mind. In the popular imagination, thanks to explorers like John Carter and classic films such as The Ten Commandments and Cleopatra, Egypt is renowned as an ancient land of mystery whose roots run back to the foundations of human civilisation. It is the Egyptologists who dedicate themselves to uncovering the hidden past of this glorious land.

An author of several books on Egyptology, including Tutankhamun’s Armies, with Colleen Manassa (J. Wiley and Sons, 2007), Professor Darnell is the co-director of the joint Thebian Desert Road Survey and Yale Toshka Desert Survey.

Darnell’s team is working in a harsh environment in the Western Desert, which lies to the west of the Nile in Egypt, Libya and north western Sudan. About 700,000 square km in area, the temperature can rise to over 40 degrees in the midday heat and drop towards zero at night.

The varied terrain includes shifting sand dunes in the Great Sand Sea that can reach hundreds of metres high, and vast, featureless plains of rock and stony plateaux, some reaching 2000 metres.

Although easy to lose yourself in the vastness of the Western Desert, modern satellite imaging and mobile GPS locators mean it is very unlikely to stray completely off ‘mapped’ terrain. However, Professor Darnell says the archaeological map for the region is still quite bare.

Archaeologists are the most meticulous and versatile of explorers, covering vast distances in a few days or mere inches in a month. Their discoveries can vary from massive temples or burial sites to shards of pottery scattered across an endless desert plain. With enough patience, they might be able to construct a complete urn.

A good archaeologist has lots of patience. Although often backbreaking work on hands and knees with shovels and trowels, or lying on the ground for hours searching for tiny shards of pottery amidst pebbles, bits of bone and offal cast away millennia ago, it can provide a goldmine of information about a past world.

The measuring and recording of sites is one the most tedious jobs for an Egyptologist. Typical methods take an inordinate amount of time and meticulous record keeping, both on-site and in the office. Intensive surveys, for example, involve teams of archaeologists walking slowly side-by-side across a site marking each find with a small flag. Each one is then individually recorded and described in detail. The records are then sent off for later review and interpretation.

The on-site work is only part of the vast machine that records, analyses, and archives thousands of observations, measurements and locations. A massive web of record keeping work surrounds each field expedition and binds them together with the larger archaeological record. Without this detailed work, pieces of the puzzle could be misplaced or misinterpreted resulting in whole sites lost in the vastness of the desert.

A few archaeological expeditions have turned up finds that cannot be placed in the historical record because of unclear record keeping. On the other hand, searching through even the most meticulous of records can be a daunting project.

One such example is the legendary City of Troy records of the Heinrich Schliemann, Wilhelm Dörpfeld, and Carl Blegen expeditions, where new date is still being found since its discovery over 70 years ago.

Archaeologists have to think in three dimensions, which make things more difficult. Generally, the deeper into the ground you go, the further back in history you are seeing. For centuries that work has been accomplished with the same basic technologies: rulers, plum-bobs, photographs and maps.

Lost sites have been rediscovered years later, most recently the King Menkauhor pyramid, relocated after 166 years (German archaeologist Karl Richard Lepsius’ reported discovery in 1842 went unconfirmed.)

Darnell was hoping industrial GPS technology could help speed up the process and accuracy of their work.

One logical concern was the learning curve. The professors and their graduate students needed to be able to use the equipment with limited support in the field, as they are the ones who have spent the majority of their lives learning about former cultures and ‘dead’ languages. They’re not professional engineers or surveyors, however their fieldwork does require a specialised understanding of surveying techniques.

In the event, the team went into the field with a Topcon GPT-2005 reflectorless total station. Professors and students underwent training essential to prepare the group for their upcoming expedition.

The team uses the equipment in three ways. First, a lot of time is spent mapping the ancient desert caravan roads that run from Thebaïd to Kharga Oasis. But surveying the road doesn’t only involve drawing lines on the map.

There are ancient campsites and military outposts, some dating back 5000 years, to be identified. That means finding buildings and lots and lots of potshards. Darnell explains: ‘Broken pots were seldom recovered by their original owners, as they were un-reusable. They left them where they fell.’

With the total station, Darnell’s team could place-capture potshards almost instantly. There was no more need for the meticulous record keeping on-site, with GPS technology, a simple point-and-shoot process replaced an immense record keeping apparatus and allowed the Egyptologists to get results very quickly.

They also used the total station to situate the ancient graffiti site – which they named Kom Hefaw, meaning ‘mound of serpents’ – and the specific inscriptions at the sites (over 500 inscriptions so far).

The ability to produce a 3D record, again with a simple point-and-click, saved countless hours of measuring, situating and recording the inscriptions. And they can find their way back to an exact inscription easily.

The total station transformed the archaeologists’ efforts, from laborious manual measurements with tape and plum-bob, allowing for precise measurements in a fraction of the time. They were able to lay in their own specific grid pattern of the site. Even more significantly, the site could be revisited at any later date. This allowed for future expeditions to carry on with the efforts of previous groups.

Darnell has facilitated computerised surveying equipment since 2003. In 2007, he began using a total station – a GPT-7005i – that provides a digital image to correspond with points shot on the ground or a vertical surface, such as a building. It became possible to combine digital imagery and measurement for the first time.

On the ground, the difference was obvious immediately. At Tudenab, the team located an ancient deep well and could produce a 3D digital plan of it practically on-site.

The well was not a complex project, but they had another surprise coming. After assembling their data from the Ghueita Temple site, they were able to generate a 3D model of the temple that could be examined from any angle, whilst sitting in a hotel room in Cairo.

‘We were really surprised,’ said Darnell. ‘We knew it was possible to use the software that way but really never imagined it would be so easy. In the models, you can “walk” right through the building and see the placements of all the major architectural elements. It’s really impressive.’

Using the 3D images – combined with satellite linkages and other technologies – archaeologists from around the world will soon be able to work simultaneously ‘on-site’ from any internet connection.

In the future, Darnell hopes that the GPS technology will continue to help us understand our past and, in so doing, better understand ourselves.(source)

How To Build A Website That Makes Money

As little as one decade ago an ecommerce site was the domain of techno wiz’s and coding geniuses. Today the Internet business world is not limited to the technically gifted and motivated. Anyone can build an ecommerce business due to the advent of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors, web building wizards, open source blog and web site platforms, as well as platform like Ebay, Amazon, etc.

A person can build a viable web business without ever understanding how to configure a Mysql database or coding in HTML or PHP. A strong computer background or time needed to learn, is all the skills needed to get started.

Static Pages & Content Management Systems

Static pages are like digital paper. They do not change. They end in .htm, and remain the same until the owner changes the content on them.

A content management system can be as simple as a www.blogger.com or Wordpress blog. Or, it can be a complex $10 000 platform that is powerful enough to run 100 000 pages of content. The objective is to create something for the search engines to send their robots to for ranking and traffic generating.

The content should be designed to create demand, solve problems, and offer solutions. The secondary purpose is to optimize the website increasing the traffic and profit.

What Are You Selling

The Internet does not require a tangible product for sale. There are dozens of things to sell which are not tangible including downloads, education, affiliate and advertising, pre-selling, or social/ entertainment. Creating a site where people can come and share their love for a hobby, venture, belief, or view, can provide a good opportunity for a savvy business owner.

It is possible to sell entertainment. It is possible to sell ‘meeting people.’ Many Internet businesses have grown to unbelievable levels of success doing just this. Some examples are youtube.com, facebook.com, myspace.com and more.

The first step to building a website is not designing the site. It is deciding what is being sold. Why will people come to the website? What will attract them? What will make visitors stay at the site?

Understanding what is for sale will help the business owner pre-sell the product without continually telling people to buy something. In fact, the most profitable sites are those that do not try to sell anything.

Monetize the Website

The term monetize the website means to create a website that doesn’t sell anything. Its sole purpose is to pre sell a product and make money by driving people to websites that do sell something. This is a popular method of income generation as it lets Internet businesses to create multiple streams of income and diversify without needing to invest money into products, merchant accounts, and warehousing or drop shipping.

Shopping Carts

Once the website owner decides what to sell, they need to determine what type of platform. Many new companies stick with paypal.com an ebay company. Other people do not try to do it their own. Instead they take their time and explore their options.

One way is to use prostores.com, ebay.com, or amazon.com to sell their products.

Stay Up To Date

Being behind the times is a quick way to go out of business. Ecommerce companies need to stay up to day. That e-book should be changed into a home study or an e-course. The download should become a video or audio file. The free blog – a personalized website. The internet world is evolving. As fast as users become familiar with one form of Internet tool or feature, another is quickly increasing to take its place.

The key to success is remaining educated, reading everything you can, and staying up to date with the web and all the tools it has. What makes money? Something new. (source)

Why a Universal Laptop Adapter is Your Essential Business Companion

Universal laptop adapters are lightweight, portable and cheap, enabling you to plug your laptop in anywhere in the world. They come with a range of connectors that are suitable for most major mains supply systems (EU and US). European and US mains voltage differs from the standard UK 240volt supply, and plugging a laptop into a different supply without the benefit of an adapter could damage your laptop. Universal laptop adapters also allow you to choose the correct voltage supply for your particular laptop with an easy-to-read LED display, removing the worry of voltage ‘spikes’ damaging the delicate internal system and rendering your laptop permanently useless.

If you travel extensively, time on board planes is often spent catching up on vital emails or writing reports that may be required for meetings. Making sure you have a universal laptop adapter packed in your luggage means that you will be able to plug into the on-board power supply and utilise your time constructively without running the laptop’s battery down. It also means that when you reach your destination your laptop is powered up and ready to go. This could make all the difference at that important meeting or presentation.

Laptop batteries are notorious for running down quickly and repeatedly draining the battery can shorten its lifespan considerably. Laptop batteries are expensive to replace and in the worst case scenario a flat battery could mean that you loose vital data or documents from your hard drive, especially if the battery dies before you’ve had a chance to hit the ‘save’ button! Connecting a laptop to a continuous power supply via a universal laptop adapter removes the possibility of this happening and you can work without the concern that your important data could be lost in an instant.

Different laptops have different specifications with regard to the required voltage needed to power them. Instead of buying a specific adapter for each laptop, a universal laptop adapter can be used for almost any make of laptop (although do check before buying that your laptop is compatible). They are designed with the business user in mind and are very lightweight and portable. The best models have in-built surge protection circuitry to protect your laptop against any voltage anomalies – particularly useful if the supply you are plugged into is unreliable or intermittent.

By using a universal laptop adapter, you also have the ability to charge other equipment whilst using your laptop. USB adapters enable you to charge mobile phones, mobile GPS systems or even an MP3 player without draining your laptop’s battery. Prices start as low as £25 and for such a small investment a universal laptop adapter really could be one of the best pieces of business equipment you buy. If your laptop is essential to your business, then so is your flexible friend – the universal laptop adapter.

Optimizing for AdSense Performance

Adsense and Adwords are two terms that are often used interchangeable. Unfortunately, they are not the same and should be kept separate at all times. Adsense and Adwords are actually the two separate components that Google uses to place relevant ads on web sites across the internet.

Adwords is the component that people who wish to advertise their sites use in order to gain exposure across the web. Adwords is separate from Adsense, but as they are so closely related, it is understandable how somebody could misuse the two terms.

Adsense is the component that allows people to place ads on their site and get paid a small commission for each click. Adsense is one of the most profitable online advertisement publishing services available, and it has the added benefit of being fairly family friendly. As far as relevance of the ads on your site, Adsense is the best. There is no other service available that provides ads that are as relevant and interesting as those that Google provides. It is rare that you encounter an ad that is not closely related to the content of your web page and if you do encounter such an ad, it was triggered by a word of phrase within you’re the page that it appeared on.

If you optimize for AdSense, you’re sure to make more money than you thought you would. Residual income is one of the best ways to make money on the web right now, and this article will show you how to make the most of it on your website.

Before you read on, go over to adsense.google.com and take their guided tour. This tour will give you a full overview of what Google AdSense is and how it works, so check it out. Done that? Great! Let’s continue.

Positioning.

Where you put your AdSense link boxes and banner ads is vitally important – trying to make money by putting them at the bottom of the pages is useless. You need to go a step further and have AdSense links right in the heart of your template, or as close to it as you can get. The best way to determine if your ads are in a visible place is to make sure that they are "within the fold." the "fold" is the top five hundred pixels of your page. The reason that this is such great real-estate, if you will, is because most browsers at most resolutions will display this portion of your site without your visitor having to scroll. If you really want to use sub-prime positions, then you should use more than one.

Linking.

The ad links you put on your site appear as if they were just another menu – this is fairly new, and it works very well. By adding Google links to your menus, you can get more click-throughs than you’d ever expect. You might not fully understand it until you try it, but once you’ve got the system in place, you’ll find that many people won’t even realize that the links they’re clicking don’t belong to you, and they’ll find them useful all the same

Leaderboards and Skyscrapers.

Google AdSense comes in all shapes and sizes. You can put it across the top of your website (a leaderboard) or down the side (a skyscraper), and there are plenty of other choices. These ads might become your bread and butter in the future, so it’s good to learn as much as you can about them now. The best place to put these ads will be relatively obvious – anywhere else just won’t look right.

Square and Rectangle Ads.

This size of advertisement is a great compliment to any website, as they offer ads small enough to slot in easily. If you have content then you won’t want AdSense to get in its way – these sizes can be better at making you some extra money than the bigger ones are.
Don't forget that many of your visitors are used to seeing AdSense within a website, and will need a good reason to click on them. You can have up to three per page, so be creative.

Filtering AdSense.

The AdSense manager gives you the option of using a ‘competition , which allows you to remove your competitors’ ads from your site. However, doing this might end up hurting your AdSense efforts – after all, isn’t it better to take your competitors’ money than not to get any? Take the time each week to monitor the ads being displayed on your site.

When, Why, And How Should I Reformat My Hard Drive?

Sometimes we have no choice when it comes to reformatting your hard drive. Just make sure you understand that all your data will be lost unless you take the time to backup files you do not want to lose. This should only be done as a last resort.

When should I reformat my hard drive? If your windows files are corrupted beyond repair or you have files missing and all your attempts to repair have failed. If you have a virus and all your attempts at removal has not worked. Another reason would be if your computer is infected with spy-ware to the point you cannot open Internet Explorer or your computer's performance has slowed considerably. Another reason would be if your computer will not finish a successful de-frag

Why should I reformat my hard drive? One of the biggest complaints I used to get when working with a clients computer was that it was so slow and it used to be a lot faster. Computers will lose performance over many months of use if it has not been de-fragged, multiple spy-ware infections, multiple virus infections, registry errors, files left after we un-installed programs we are not using. All these factors over time will slow your computer to a crawl. It would be a good idea when your computer is to the point that all your attempts to correct the problems have not improved the situation. If your at this point than its time you make preparations to reload your computer.

How should I reformat my hard drive?

1. Before you can begin to reformat your hard drive you must try to backup any files you may want to keep. Keep in mind if your computer is infected so can the files your backing up be infected. Before you proceed with the backup process separate the files you want to keep into a separate folder. Any folders that contain files you want to keep you can drag and drop those into this folder too.

2. Run a scan virus and spy-ware on this folder and make sure these files are not infected. Any files that cannot be repaired get rid of them.

Dig Out That Virus

Internet worms.

Is your PC infected?

If your computer has become infected with a worm, don’t panic, it is not the end of the world.

There are a number of things that you can do.

Microsoft has a security web page.
www.microsoft.com/security/default.mspx It offers up to the minute information on the latest security threats and worms. It also provides you with all of the tools to dig out the worms and fix any damage that they may have caused.

I expect that most of you are saying that you already have protection. May I ask a question?
“Is it up-to-date?”

We all know that virus protection is essential. The trouble is that a lot of us have not updated our virus protection software since we purchased our computer, possibly three or four years ago.

The chances are, it is completely useless against the latest threats.

I am using AGV anti virus. I have found it to be totally reliable. There are other programs, I expect, that are just as good. Zone alarm also has a very good reputation. There are lots of others that won't break the bank.

Go to Google and type in “anti virus programs” and you will get more results than you could shake a stick at.

You only need one of these programs on your computer at one time. More than one and they tend to get confused and anything could happen.

Whatever program you use, be sure to keep it up-to-date. There are new viruses coming out almost on a daily basis. Try to get an update at least once a week. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

A lot of programs will email you when a new virus appears and offer the appropriate update as part of their service.

Whatever you do, don’t leave it until tomorrow. Tomorrow may be too late.

Do it now and sleep easy. Viruses have been known to cause nightmares.

All the best. Bob…(source)

Get More Traffic From Bloggers and Better Search Engine Traffic - Be Followed

Here’s a very simple traffic method for anyone who has their own web site, not just a person who has a blog.

1. Find the DoFollow Bloggers.

2. Participate in their communities. But alas, Simple is not the same thing as Easy. We shall come back to that point momentarily.

First, let’s talk about why you should support DoFollow communties. DoFollow blogs manually remove the "Nofollow" attribute that prevents your site from getting full link benefits from the search engines. So when you comment at a DoFollow site and leave your link, you could get a link back that not only sends traffic, but increases your number of external backlinks, which can help increase your search engine ranking, as well as your relevance on sites like Technorati.

Now, here we are, back at the "simple is not easy" thing. Look at number two again. Note how it doesn’t say "leave a drive-by comment whose only purpose is to have a link back to you that contains your keyword." :) It says "Participate in their communities." Why the distinction?

I'm a DoFollow blogger, so I can tell you. DoFollow bloggers aren’t looking for comments on the cheap. Do we want more comments? Sure. But if that’s all we wanted, we’d let the borderline spam flow. We’d then look like we were a popular blog without actually being one, which, let’s face it, could give us the bump we’d need to make the site popular. Not to mention that it’s a lot less work.

So why don't we do this? Because some of us changed our blogs back to DoFollow to make a point about how "Nofollow" doesn't prevent spam, and hurts our fellow bloggers. The commenting system is a reciprocal relationship in our eyes and many of us believe that fellow bloggers and webmasters especially should get something in return for taking the time to comment. And yet, spam posters try to make it look like they’re doing us some kind of favor by leaving their junk on our sites and cluttering up our experience for the rest of our community.

I know, it’s tempting to leave a generic comment to get more links, and it works on a minority of bloggers. To avoid having yourself lumped in with those people, really think about a brief comment, make it relevant to the discussion and see if you can’t form a relationship with that blogger. Because it’s not actually the comment that is really the traffic jackpot. You may end up forming an alliance with a blogger whose blog you comment on frequently. That may mean that they feature you in a blog post, or that you have a future partnership that leads to an increase in revenue to your company. Either way the benefits will always be greater if you respect the etiquette of the blogosphere.

So don’t make this classic newbie mistake - realize that not only are the bloggers real people, so are the members of their community. Be one of the good guys and prepare to reap the rewards of it.

Link exchange: your ticket to better page rankings

Get the most out of associated and relevant sites by linking them to your own website! Link exchange could be your best bet to achieving that coveted position on search engines.

Any online business that’s serious about getting noticed needs to adopt link exchange. It’s because this popular marketing tool represents better search engine ranking, more visibility and popularity on the Internet.

What is it all about?

Link exchange basically entails exchanging banners and links with other sites that have associated content. This greatly improves one’s chances at getting more site traffic as well as advertising each other’s sites. Most of these link exchange programs are available free of cost. Once you find a website which has similar content you can contact the respective webmaster or site owner to request for their link to your site. In this way you can get more and more links to your site.

Targeted traffic

The reason why link exchange is so great is because by linking to relevant sites, you stand better chances at obtaining targeted traffic. This means that the traffic you receive on your site is already partially interested in what you are selling. This means your site can have better chances at selling its products online. By adopting link exchange programs you can in fact increase sales conversions on your site!

Paid or free

Many websites will offer you link exchange programs for an upfront fee. It’s mostly because such sites are far more popular than other sites. By having your links on their site or getting access to their links, you stand better chances at gaining more traffic to your website. The ones that offer link exchange free of cost will usually be the less popular ones. However such sites will need to have at least a little bit of information that is similar to your site. It’s because popular search engines determine page rankings based on the number of relevant sites you link with. Otherwise you will have to churn out at least a million hits - an impossible task, especially for a small startup company.

Quantity is not the only factor

Most of the popular search engines will determine your page ranking based on the number of inbound or on-way links as compared to the reciprocal or two-way links. Thus your link exchange program needs to focus more on one-way links to gain better page rankings.

Tips to get better results

First and foremost, try to keep the links as short and crisp as possible. Make sure to avoid using capital letters for all the words on the link - it affects readability. As an ethical practice, never delete any link exchange partner from your site, after they have placed your link on their site. When you perform follow-ups with the webmaster, you need to showcase why having your link on their site can be beneficial to them.

If you want to learn more, do not hesitate to visit the link attached. You will definitely be satisfied with what you can get from there.(source)

Problems with Acer Laptops

This article describes the most common Acer Laptop Problems. If you're thinking of buying Acer laptop computers in the US or UL, then I suggest you to read about the main Acer laptop problems before you buy.

There is an alarmingly large number of problems being described by Acer owners on different blogs and forums over the Internet. Some owners' Acer laptops have gone completely unusable, with signs of power or mother board failure. The machine will now not even turn on and if the warranty has passed, you will be facing some major issues. Acer has been notoriously difficult in communicating such problems with clients, the customer support is not very helpful and they don't reimburse too often. If you do a little research online, you will see a lot of people complaining about problems with Acer Aspire. Acer laptops are not cheap and should definitely provide far better quality for that money.

Another common Acer laptop problem is "getting the blackscreen." It appears that the LCD displays have the backlight (usually a cold cathode) burnt out. The repair typically consists of opening the monitor replacing the cold cathode tube and reassembling the unit. But before you go on to such decisions, make sure to check that you haven't just accidentally turn off the backlight. On Acer laptops, pressing the Fn button and F6 at the same time is the backlight on/off togle. Holding the Fn button and pressing the left/right arrow keys raises/lowers the backlight brightness. Another commonly reported problem about Acer laptops is USB port failure. Some owners have complained about the USB ports not working. Even after reinstalling the drivers, they still don't work.

There are cases when an Acer laptop would develop a fault with the HDD (Hard Disc Drive) where windows could not find the disc. The only fix here is getting a new hard drive and this would cost you around $200 if the warranty period is over. You should definitely report that problem and send the machine for repair. Acer would charge you more, but this a repair that even you can do by yourself should you be knowledgeable enough of course. Another problem is what's known as "the click of death." It can happen on a brand new model if the hard drive is making lots of clicking noises, which is a sign that the disc is not keeping the correct speed.

A problem was recently discovered in the charging process of Acer Travelmate 2702WLMi laptop. When powered down, the charging only works intermittently. The charge light comes on but then randomly blinks on and then off etc. The result is that it takes forever to charge. This is a common Acer laptop problem that has got something to do with overheating. One of the fans can all of sudden stop working and as a result, overheating occurs. Make sure your laptop is not getting really hot. Another thing you can do is open it up and clear up the dust that's covering everything. Just remove the dust and it will work much better, because clogged-up heatsinks can affect the battery charging.

Some Acer owners have reported that the DVD burner has suddenly stopped working after the warranty period ended. The DVD-RW drive stopped burning to Disc and barely plays any dvds. This would normally happen if you have recorded a very big number of DVDs like a thousand, but shouldn't occur in other circumstances.

If your Acer laptop freezes, seek official Acer laptop support. In case suddenly your Acer laptop shuts down, check the Acer laptop troubleshooting manual.(source)

Link Building Tips For Add Site & Submit URL Link Directories

It is easy these days to find links easily by searching the internet for directories, however you probably need some pointers from someone with experience to help you save time and become more efficient. I currently run a link directory and submit to link directories on a daily basis, so I have a good understanding of how to get links easily and effectively.

You need to find links from Add Site directories or Submit URL or Link Directories. This is pretty easy to do, however you must know how to search to find them.

If you want to create a very effective link building plan, you must have a page on your web site where you can add other companies links. Because many directories ask for a link exchange or reciprocal link in return for a link to your web site. You want a page that is easy to update and you need to link to it from your home page.

Now I recommend you start obtaining links by searching the web. Go to your favorite search engine and we are going to find some directories. Let's say that you have a company that sells car parts. I would recommend performing searches like this to gain the highest quality links easily. See below search phrase:

intitle:car+parts inurl:links

This is going to give you a vast number of results for sites that are specifically about car parts, and you will be pointed to a URL with the word "Links" in it. This helps to save time hunting down web sites and shortens your time finding links. Some other InUrl searches you can use would be "directory" and "resources".

Then you should get creative and try different things, don't always get too specific because you can lower the amount of quality results.

Some other great link building ideas will be to find sites looking for sponsors, post in forums, create unique content that creates makes people want to link to you and more. I focus on obtaining links that are from pages that have page ranks or else pages that have high link popularity. This will help to make sure you are gaining ground fast when it comes to building your own link popularity.

Hopefully these link building and search engine optimization tips have helped. There are a wide number of great link building tips guides on the internet and search engine optimization marketing blogs. Look around and keep learning, because knowledge is key when you are an Organic SEO Consultant or guru.
